Syncrety Job Board
Computer support technician
Description
At Syncrety, we help small and medium-sized organizations run reliable, well-managed IT environments. Our work is structured, documented, and standards-driven. We are looking for a Computer Support Technician who takes pride in doing things properly, is technically curious, and cares deeply about the people they support.
This role is a great fit if you enjoy diagnosing problems, learning how systems actually work, and steadily improving how support is delivered over time.
What success looks like in this role
In your first few months, success looks like:
- Learning our environments, tools, and standards
- Resolving support issues methodically rather than by guesswork
- Communicating clearly with non-technical users
- Documenting what you learn so others can benefit
- Asking good questions and steadily expanding your technical depth
What you’ll be doing
- Providing day-to-day IT support for small and medium-sized businesses
- Troubleshooting Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, and endpoint issues
- Documenting fixes, procedures, and environment details in our ticketing and documentation systems
- Participating in onsite client visits when required
- Following standardized processes while continuously improving them
This is hands-on IT support work focused on system reliability and client experience. It is not software development or programming; software development training is not relevant to this role.
What we’re looking for
- At least one year of SMB IT support or help desk experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a logical approach to problem-solving
- Clear written and verbal communication
- A habit of documenting your work accurately
- Genuine technical curiosity and interest in learning
- Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
You must have:
- A valid BC driver’s license, a reliable insured vehicle (for onsite client visits that may happen during every work day), and an acceptable driving record
- The ability to pass a criminal background check (bondable)
- Canadian residency
Certifications and learning
CompTIA A+, Network+, and IT Fundamentals+ certifications are required, either already held or obtained shortly after starting. We value people who actively work on their skills through labs, reading, and hands-on practice.
Our values
- Do the right thing
- Be curious
- Strive for excellence
- Care about every person we serve
- Deliver an exceptional client experience
We believe good IT work is thoughtful, ethical, and well-documented.
Work environment
This is an in-office role based in Kamloops. We are not currently hiring for remote positions.
If you don’t meet every requirement but believe this role matches how you think, learn, and work, we encourage you to apply.
Compensation
